First Fruit of the Year

Last week I went to the store and saw that they had just put out the first picking of peaches.  I LOVE peachs. They are one of my many favorite fruits so I was excited. But when I went to pick them up they were hard as rock, Clearly not ripe. So I didn't buy any. Well I went back today, and they had even more crates of peaches out, and they were just perfectly ripe. So I bought some, along with some really red strawberries and avacados!

When I got back to my office, I cut up some strawberries in my yogurt, and bit into my first peach. And man oh man was it tasty!!!

SO delicious! I cant wait for the rest of the summer fruit to arrive! Nectarines, Plums, Apricots, Watermelon, Cantelope, really tasty honeydew, and all sorts of fruit that I look forward to through the dreary orange and apple winter. If only I liked oranges and apples. =)

And whats so great about them finally having good fruit in the stores, is that I can eat all the fruit I want, I am thinking that I am going to have lots of fun substituting my peaches and strawberries for the chocolate I have sworn off. Until next month chocolate, then we will be reunited!

No Sugar Until My Wedding

When a woman gets engaged, future brides back me up, one of the first thoughts that goes through their minds besides getting to marry the man of their dreams is,

"OH MY GOSH! I need to start working out STAT!"

There are a number of reasons for this thought, wedding dress, wedding pictures, wedding reception, wedding night, Honeymoon, ect. So we rush to the store to buy ourselves a pair of running shoes, some work out clothes and work out gear and then rush to the nearest gym we can find. We calculate the amount of time until our wedding and we divide that by the amount of extra chocolate pounds we need to lose and then begin to stress about those 10 little extra pounds that just HAVE TO COME OFF!

Well this was almost the scenario that I found myself in back on October 16th 2010. Luckily at the turn of 2009 to 2010 I made myself a little New Years Resolution to make fitness a priority in my life and I am proud to say I had stuck to it. So when I found out that in a few short months I would be marrying my sweetheart, I figured my chances of shaving off a few inches and dropping a few pounds wouldn't be too unattainable.

Shortly before I became engaged, Brandon and I had signed up for a gym membership so I knew I wouldn't have to go through the grueling first few weeks of working out because I had already been through those. The thing I needed to do was modify my diet, and up the physical fitness. Now by diet, I don't mean the Low carb or low protein diet, that you do for a short time just to lose the weight. What I mean by diet, is that i took out some of the bad stuff I was constantly eating and added in a few healthier options. I started monitering my calories and refined my daily caloric intake, keeping it more regular and not so sporatic. All good things, and all things the body requires, Basically Healthifying my life. I started playing soccer with friends from church too! Tons of fun by the way but I will save that for another blog entry.

After analyzing my progress I figured I was doing pretty good. Well the turn of the year came 2010-2011 and I decided to define my previous New Years Resolution even more making it stronger. Work out more during the week, work out for longer amounts of time, eat healthier! Become Stronger!  I truely wanted to become a health addict. Now addiction in any form is unhealthy, and I knew this. And about this same time I stumbled up on a great website called MYFITNESSPAL.com. Which is basically a facebook for health freaks Its great! My profile is created specifically for me. This website has helped keep fitness a balance in my life without letting it rule my world.

Well now I have reached the "One month to go" mile marker and I analyzed my progress, I feel Im doing pretty good, but I want to do even better. So I made myself a goal.

**If you don't take surprises well I suggest sitting down if you arent.

I decided to give up sugary sweet treats and desserts for the last thirty days before my wedding!!! GASP* I know! OMGOSH!!! What's a girl to do! How Shall I EVER survive!?!!? I'm pretty sure this challenge is impossible. Or darn near at least. But Hey! That is why they call it a challenge.

Those that know me know I can't resist chocolate. I LOVEEE Chocolate. I crave chocolate. I crave chocolatey things. Brownies, Brownie sundaes, cookies, Pudding, Chocolate bars, Hersheys kisses, Reeses, you name it, if its got chocolate and/or peanutbutter in it its on my list of delicious things that I cant live without.

But they say that the quickest way to a flat stomach is cutting sugar and salt out of your diet! So that is what I am doing for the next thirty days. I am on day three so far and the cravings haven't kicked in yet, but I know they are right around the corner. And I am prepared with mase in the form of will power to kick them in the butt! It will be hard. But hey, I am determined to look great in that wedding dress and the few weeks to follow it!

Gotta look cute in my swimsuit too ya know!

Stay tuned for weekly updates!

Snow

Last night, on my way home from the gym, it started snowing. And then by the time we got home, it had quit snowing. I figured that was the last of the snow. Especially considering this past weekend we had weather almost warm enough to pull out the shorts!

Well I left my house this morning for work, and as I am driving into town, there are cars going in the opposite direction with atleast a good inch of snow on the hood of their cars! I guess it snowed more than 3 minutes in other places of washington. lol

So I got to work, turned on my computer, made my breakfast and as I was walking back to my desk I got a good look at the Horrific sight!

ITS SNOWING!

Now normally I would be okay with the snow, During the months of November-January, and IF the weather stays cold. But NOOOO

This past weekend we had such beautiful weather. The sun was shining, I got to drive with my windows down, I didn't have to pack a jacket around with me. It was BEAUTIFUL!

I am soo ready for the sun, that I no longer can see the beauty in the snow. And it wouldn't be so bad except people in Washington State don't know how to drive in the snow. They abandon their cars in the middle of the road. They cut me off and then slam on their breaks because they are terrified of slipping. They think Four Wheel Drive means that they are invincible until they slam into a ditch.

Its sooo unbelieveably frustrating. Im afraid to drive in the snow because my life is at stake, and not because of the snow... because of the drivers.

Last year we were cheated when it came to the nice warm weather. So this year needs to be a good one.

Sun please come out. Make the snow go away! PLEASE!

I am sooo sick of the cold wet rainy (and aparently snowy) weather.

Cupcakes and Apartment Shopping

This weekend was a great one! I have been having so many great weekends lately and I think it is because I am getting more and more excited for my wedding.

Brandon and I went apartment shopping on Saturday. We have been looking at so many lately. We have been impressed by a few. Others not so much. =) A main factor for me is living in a safe area. I am paranoid about break ins, and stuff like that, and so I very much have been wanting to live in a town thats a little more upscale, and safe. Well right near where we both live currently is a little town called Mill Creek. For those who are not familiar with the area, its a cute little town that isn't very big. It has a cute little "Towne Center" as its called, that has pretty much everything you need or could want. But what I like about it is that it is very much upscale, and safe.

As we were driving down the main highway that runs through Mill Creek a few days ago, we found that there was apartments, after apartments, after apartments. So instead of visiting every complex we jotted the names down and went home to look them up on the internet.

After finding a few that we like and that were in our price range. We decided to go look at them on saturday. It didn't take us very long to find the one that we both absolutely loved. Its called The Mill. The price is reasonable, and the apartment is sooo nice. They were remodeled about 2 years ago, and so the inside is so modern and cute.

I can't wait to move in there! Lets just hope that when it comes time for us to move in, that they still have apartments available. =)

Lately I have been talking about going to a cupcake bakery to try these "Gourmet Cupcakes" that are all the craze lately. I am not a cake lover, and so it has been driving me absolutely crazy to turn on the tv and see more and more cupcake tv shows and to drive by all these cupcake bakeries. So I finally decided that I needed to try a gourmet cupcake before I continued to think that this new fad is stupid. Who knows maybe gourmet cupcakes are all they are cracked up to be.

So after Brandon and I finished Apartment Shopping. I told him that we needed to go try ourselves some cupcakes. I knew of a bakery im Snohomish (where I live) called Bite Me Cupcake Bakery and Eatery. It had a fun name. So we went!

I ordered the Chocolate Lovers Cupcake Imagine THAT! And Brandon ordered the Red Velvet Cupcake.

We sat down at one of the tables to enjoy our cupcakes, and as I ate my cupcake and tried Brandon's my suspicions were confirmed. The cupcake fad really isn't all that it is made out to be. They really aren't all that Fantastic. My world didn't stop, my tastebuds weren't immediately sent to heaven. And my Chocolate Craving wasn't satisfied in the least. Now don't get me wrong. It wasn't bad, it was good. But I still don't understand the fixiation with the cupcake fad.

My conclusion to this experiment was that maybe Bite Me Cupcake Bakery and Eatery just isn't as gourmet as some. So before I can confirm my suspicions, I need to try atleast one more cupcake from a different bakery.

As for my weekend. It was awesome!

High Heels

I love High heels!
Higheels wont leave you, they will always make you look adorable. They wont make you fat. They wont cheat on you. They wont find someone else to be friends with. They will always make those jeans make your butt look small, cute and sassy. They will compliment you(r outfit). They will bear the whole weight of your friendship. And most importantly they make you always feel GREAT!
Sexy, Powerful, Assertive, Confident and Gorgeous!

Sexy
I love walking into places and turning heads. It does wonders for the self confidence. The taller the heel the longer my legs look, and being height challenged, as I am, I love that they make my legs look longer. Nothing goes better with a pair of skinny Jeans, summer dress or skirt than a pair of fun flirty pumps. And boys everywhere agree I think.

Powerful

Nothing says power like a woman in a pair of High heels. I feel powerful beyond measure when I put on my high heels. I immediately feel like the world is mine and that I can have anything I want. Now whether or not this is true, I truely believe that part of becoming successful is convincing yourself that you can have what ever your heart desires. And Higheels definately give me this self assured power.

Assertive

People don't mess with a woman in 6 inch stilleto's; its simply impractical. Especially men. They look at that heel and say wow. Lets not piss her off today. I don't want that heel anywhere near me. =)

Confident

I can hold my head high when I am wearing my heels. I find it very hard to wear a pair of heels and NOT feel confident. I am less shy, I am less self concious, and I am less nervous about meeting new people, because I know I look great.

Gorgeous

This one goes along with Sexy. Its hard to not feel beautiful when you are being complimented all the time. I haven't, not once, been out in public in a pair of my favorite heels and gone without a compliment. There is just something about them.

Valentine's Day

This year Brandon had to work on Valentines Day, so we decided to push our valentines day celebration off until Wednesday (we also had a soccer game that interferred with celebrating on Tuesday). So Wednesday afternoon, my boss and father let us all off work early, so I rushed home, got all beautified, and drove over to my baby's house.

I was greeted at the door by my very very handsome Valentine, who looked so sexy in a red dress shirt (that I got him for Christmas) and black slacks. I laughed when I saw him because I too was dressed in red.

Side note; on sunday we had dressed in the same colors for church too. We have a funny way of doing that.

Hibatchi Steak

Anyways! Our plans for the evening were to enjoy our favorite meals at the Cheesecake Factory in Bellevue, WA. His choice meal, the Hibatchi Steak. My choice meal, the Pasta Carbonera, Mmmmmm! Its Angel hair pasta in a tasty white cream sauce, with chicken bacon and peas and it is to DIE for!

Pasta Carbonera

About a quarter of the way through my dish, I was full, so I asked the waiter to box it up for me. We also asked for the dessert menu. Its pretty much blasphemous to eat at the Cheesecake Factory and not order dessert.

Adam's Peanutbutter Cup Ripple

I ordered the Adam's Peanut Butter Cheesecake and Brandon ordered the Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake, and of course because we were both soooo full from dinner, Brandon and I had absolutely no room left to enjoy our dessert at the restaurant. So we had them prepare our dessert to go.

Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake
After we finished and paid, we looked at the time and realized that it was only 5:30. So we decided to hang out at the mall for a while. We went shopping (another of our favorite pass times) and enjoyed being with eachother.

It was a great Valentines day, and by far the best, considering that I get to keep him as my Valentine for the rest of my life.
